  20. This was indeed a problem with some of the first versions of Kpathsea.
  21. You should upgrade to Kpathsea 1.8 -- and of course make sure that `.'
  22. is first in the TEXINPUTS path; for example, the setting in my copy of
  23. `paths.h.in' is
